With three feet of snow still on the ground and daily highs hovering in the single digits, spring feels far away. But for kids who want to perform in Faith Church’s annual Mother’s Day children’s musical in May, preparations are afoot.
It all begins tomorrow, February 18, at 6:30 p.m. Children in kindergarten on up to fifth grade are invited to come out to the church to the first meeting where they will learn about this year’s performance of The Agape League. Kids will take home a listening book and CD. Those excited for tackling a part can try out on March 11.
While this event has always been a blast for the kids of Faith Church, the event is open to kids from all over. Faye Martin, who directs the production, is excited to see new faces—and more voices make for a great show. So if your own kids are participating, encourage them to invite their friend from school or the neighborhood to join them.
Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays, February 18 through May 6, 6:30–8:00 p.m. at Faith Church. There’s a dress rehearsal on the Saturday before Mother’s Day.
A suggested donation of $25 per child ($50 per family of two or more) helps to cover the cost of music, costumes, and props, but is not required.
