January 28 Announcements

This Sunday

NEW MEN’S STUDIES FORMING… Join one of our groups to read and discuss The Life of a God-made Man by Dan Doriani.  The book presents a grace-based approach to understanding our identity and roles as men in light of our relationship with God through the gospel rather than a performance-based checklist of activities.  Contact Pastor Steve or Andrew Morris (andrewkmorris@gmail.com) if you’d like more information about one of these groups.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS…. Our missionary of the month, Linda Hostetter, needs headbands to take with her when she returns to Moldova this year. each headband should be 3″-4″ wide and about 19″-22″ in circumference. Linda suggests using muted colors. Yarn is available for this project. Contact Sarah Zowada to get the yarn. You may also turn your completed headbands into Sarah.

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE NEXT MISSIONS CONFERENCE… March 11-18th, with a special volunteer opportunity day on Saturday, March 17th.

ATTENTION KIDS! JOIN US IN PREPARING A SPECIAL OFFERTORY…  Get your musical and theatrical skills ready, because it is time to sing and act for God’s glory! Kids in kindergarten thru 5th grade are invited to participate, neighbors and friends are welcome to join too! We will be practicing on Wednesday nights, January 31- February 28th, from 6:30-7:30. We will be performing a skit and a song for the offertory on March 4th during the 9:45 AM service. Tryouts will take place February 7th during our class time. If you have any questions email Heidi Morris.

CHILDCARE HELP NEED FOR ESL GROUP… We need one person to help watch the young children of the women who attend the English as a Second Language Group every Thursday from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM. Contact Heidi Morris if you can help.  This is a great way to help serve women outside of our church community as most of the women who attend this group do not attend Faith Church.

OLSHA WALK FOR WARMTH… This cold weather means it must be time for OLHSA’s annual Walk for Warmth! In years past we have had a group that has participated in this fun, informal event, held indoors at Great Lakes Crossing mall. Meet up with other Faith Church friends and walk a lap or 2 around the mall to support OLHSA’s biggest fundraiser of the year, which benefits people in our community that have difficulty paying their electric and heating bills. It will take place on Saturday, February 3 at 9:00, before the mall opens. Interested? Contact Jayna Pyke.
