- Prepare your heart for worship by listening to the worship set.
- This Sunday is scouting Sunday. We are looking for scouts to greet, usher, and assist in the offertory. Please come at 9:20 dressed in your scouting uniform to participate.
LENT BIBLE READING… Lent is the 40 day period (not including Sundays) of repentance and preparation as we anticipate Good Friday and Easter. Some church traditions focus on “giving something up for Jesus.” Our tradition has focused on adding something intentional in our lives to reinforce who we are in Christ based on what Christ has done for us. We invite you to join us on the first day of lent, Wednesday, February 14th, in reading through Scripture together as part of our through-the-Bible reading plan. To get started, open up the Faith Church app that day and start reading or pick up a reading plan at the resource center.
CHILI COOK-OFF… Please join us for the Faith Chili Cook-off next Sunday (Feb 11), right after the Sunday School hour. If you wish to contribute, there is a sign-up sheet in the lobby, or you can get in touch with Monica Campbell. Participants will bring their already-made chili in a crockpot before church so they can be heated and ready to go by lunchtime. Weather permitting, kids and adults are welcome to bring their snow gear and sleds to play outside!
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED… We have an immediate need for two people to serve once-a-month in the 3 and 4-year-old Sunday school class during the 9:45 AM worship service. All materials are provided. Please contact Ann Strombeck (email@example.com).
NEW MEN’S STUDIES FORMING… Join one of our groups to read and discuss The Life of a God-made Man by Dan Doriani. The book presents a grace-based approach to understanding our identity and roles as men in light of our relationship with God through the gospel rather than a performance-based checklist of activities. Contact Pastor Steve or Andrew Morris (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’d like more information about one of these groups.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS…. Our missionary of the month, Linda Hostetter, needs headbands to take with her when she returns to Moldova this year. each headband should be 3″-4″ wide and about 19″-22″ in circumference. Linda suggests using muted colors. Yarn is available for this project. Contact Sarah Zowada to get the yarn. You may also turn your completed headbands into Sarah.
SAVE THE DATE FOR THE NEXT MISSIONS CONFERENCE… March 11-18th, with a special volunteer opportunity day on Saturday, March 17th.
ATTENTION KIDS! JOIN US IN PREPARING A SPECIAL OFFERTORY… Get your musical and theatrical skills ready, because it is time to sing and act for God’s glory! Kids in kindergarten thru 5th grade are invited to participate, neighbors and friends are welcome to join too! We will be practicing on Wednesday nights, January 31- February 28th, from 6:30-7:30. We will be performing a skit and a song for the offertory on March 4th during the 9:45 AM service. Tryouts will take place February 7th during our class time. If you have any questions email Heidi Morris.
