- Message from Jason Sewell, Exodus 17
- Prepare your heart for worship by listening to the worship set.
- Please join us Sunday for the Faith Church Chili Cook-off! It will begin right after the Sunday School hour. Come enjoy fellowship and some excellent chili! Kids and adults are welcome to put on their snow gear and take their sleds to play outside! We can still use a few more slow cookers filled with chili. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to bring one.
MISSIONS WEEK: “A FAMILY ON MISSION”… Our theme this year will seek to build community within the body of Faith Church as a spiritual family doing local missions activity in a fun and practical way. Whether you’re single, married, have kids, or don’t, we’re all part of an extended spiritual family, and together we’re sent on God’s mission. Sunday worship on March 11 and 18 will explore our theme. Wednesday, 3/14, will include speakers from each of the organizations we’ll serve with on our Saturday service projects, and Saturday, 3/17, will begin with a breakfast and commissioning before we scatter to serve in the community, which will include opportunities for kids, youth, and adults. Make plans to join us on these days. More details are to come!
LENT BIBLE READING… Lent is the 40 day period (not including Sundays) of repentance and preparation as we anticipate Good Friday and Easter. Some church traditions focus on “giving something up for Jesus.” Our tradition has focused on adding something intentional in our lives to reinforce who we are in Christ based on what Christ has done for us. We invite you to join us on the first day of lent, Wednesday, February 14th, in reading through Scripture together as part of our through-the-Bible reading plan. To get started, open up the Faith Church app that day and start reading or pick up a reading plan at the resource center.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED… We have an immediate need for one person to serve once-a-month in the 3 and 4-year-old Sunday school class during the 9:45 AM worship service. All materials are provided. Please contact Ann Strombeck (email@example.com).
PRAYER BREAKFAST TICKETS… The annual Rochester Area Prayer Breakfast is Thursday, May 3rd from 7:00AM – 9:00AM. This year’s speaker is Bob Goff. He is the New York Times best- selling author of Love Does, Honorary Consul to the Republic of Uganda, and an attorney who founded Love Does – a nonprofit human rights organization operating in Uganda, India, Nepal, Iraq and Somalia. The Breakfast is hosted at the Athletics Center O’Rena at Oakland University. Doors open at 6:45AM and the program begins at 7:30AM. Tickets are $25 each. If you would like to sit at the Faith Church table, please contact Julie (firstname.lastname@example.org).
